The emergence of "The Land of Happiness in Phang Nga" is not a matter of coincidence. Instead, it is something that the people of Phang Nga desire and a shared goal of the residents of Phang Nga. It sets the direction for the development of the province. "The Land of Happiness in Phang Nga" originated from the suffering caused by the 2004 Indian Ocean tsunami. People learned from their shared suffering and began to focus on the common issues in the province. This led to the creation of the pioneering initiative "Self-Reliant Province," which places a strong emphasis on the importance of community participation by four key sectors: 1) Local communities in the area, 2) individuals promoting work in the area, 3) academia, and 4) government. "The Land of Happiness in Phang Nga" believes in the conviction that "the happiness of the people of Phang Nga is created by the intention of the people of Phang Nga themselves."
